Haven Point’s leisure pool and teaching pool will shut for around two weeks to allow for high level cleaning and maintenance work to be carried out on the building as part of the Council’s annual maintenance programme.

The work starts on Monday December 9 and is scheduled to finish on Sunday December 22.

All other facilities including the main pool and changing village will remain open as usual. Residents are also reminded that they can use facilities at Hebburn Central and Jarrow Community Pool.

A Spokesperson for South Tyneside Council said: “We have scheduled the works to avoid school holiday periods and minimise disruption. This is a state-of-the-art facility so this type of maintenance work is routine.

“We appreciate people’s patience and apologise for any inconvenience.”
