Earlier this year, applicant Valonia Tattoos lodged proposals with South Tyneside Council.
The business is based at 14b Frederick Street, Laygate, but applied to set up shop in a vacant space less than a mile away.

Following public consultation, South Tyneside Council planners approved the move on Friday, December 13.
Proposed opening hours at the new shop space include Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Saturday, 10am-5pm.
However, the business is expected to close on Thursdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

“The proposal will bring a vacant unit back into use.”
Council planners added they had no concerns about extra noise or traffic from the proposals.
And a statement from Valonia Tattoos, posted on social media, states the firm will relocate from January 1, 2020.
