The Gazette is giving each candidate in the South Shields and Jarrow constituencies the opportunity to tell voters why they should choose them on December 12.

We invite you all to send us 250 words summarising what you would do to improve the constituency and why you feel you are the best person for the job.

Please concentrate on what you think you can bring to South Tyneside rather than what you feel others can't.

We also invite you to send us a 60-second MP4 video message again summarising why you think voters should choose you.

Again, we would urge your message to concentrate on your campaign and what you feel you are offering rather than commenting on rival candidates.

In both cases, we reserve the right to edit comments on legal grounds.

Please also include a portrait photograph of yourself to illustrate your newspaper article and a direct telephone number so we can contact you quickly if needs be.

Failure to provide an article or video will not prevent contributions from rival candidates from appearing in our papers and on our websites in the build up to polling day.

Articles, videos and photographs should be sent to both [email protected] and [email protected] by the end of Tuesday, November 26, at the latest.

You can also contact Gavin Ledwith via (0191) 5017435 if you have any queries.

Thank you.
