Newcastle United had been rumoured to be keen on a move for defender Diego Reyes, but any potential deal is now OFF. Reports in France suggest that the Mexican defender - who was also linked with West Ham and Watford - will join Bordeaux after his contract at Porto expired (L'Equipe)

However, the Magpies are 'closing in' on deals for Japanese striker Yoshinori Muto and defender Fabian Schar, who impressed at the World Cup (Shields Gazette)

Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Croatian defender Domagoj Vida, but still need to agree a fee with current club Besiktas (A Spor)
