It was the first time the youngster has auditioned for the school after finally meeting the age criteria.

She had to beat off a number of competitors for one of a few places at the school up for grabs. The weekly classes will held in Newcastle.

Rose from Broughton Road, South Shields, has also gained a place on the Elmhurst Ballet School young dancer programme.

Both schools are well-known for their training and opportunities within the world of ballet.

Proud mum Emma said: “We had quite a long wait. Around nine weeks from the audition to receiving the letter to say she had been accepted.

“Rose dreams of becoming a ballerina, and lives for dance. She enjoys many other forms of dance, jazz, musical theatre, acro, and Tap, but ballet is where her heart lies.

“Both programmes begin in September and Rose is absolutely delighted to be joining them both in the hope it leads to further training and a career as a ballerina.”

Rose began dancing at the age of two and soon found a love of ballet winning a number of local, regional and national championships.

Emma added: “Rose has had a fantastic beginning to her dance career and is so lucky to be given the opportunity to work with such amazing teachers both at her dance school and on the Ballet programmes.
