Food-lovers are in for a treat as a free festival of culinary delights returns to South Tyneside.
The Proper Food And Drink Festival will be taking place at Bents Park, in South Shields, from Saturday to Monday.

There will be more than 70 businesses from across the region setting up stalls to offer festival-goers tastes from around the globe.
Last year, more than 10,000 people attended the free three-day event, despite heavy rain, and organisers hope this weekend’s festival will be just as successful.
Organiser Mark Deacon said: “This is the second year the festival will be held, and it’s bigger and better than before. We have even more businesses taking part.
“Last year, more than 10,000 people came over the course of the weekend and bank holiday Monday was definitely the busiest day.
“I think the people of South Shields like to get out and about and do something of note on a bank holiday Monday, so this was ideal for them.
“There was such a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a really nice crowd, so we’re hoping for the same again this weekend.”
There will also be a number of real ale bars, wine stands and cocktail makers offering adult beverages.
Bands and DJs will be providing entertainment.
Mr Deacon will also be taking the festival to Whitley Bay in June and North Shields in July.
He added: “There will be all sorts of things going on, and people will be able to experience tastes from around the world.
“I think this is probably one of the biggest events of its kind within the region.
“We’re just hoping that the weather stays fine, so lots of people will be able to come along and enjoy themselves.”
