It’s good to be back.

The 41-year-old from South Shields, last performed a show in her hometown almost a decade ago.

But on Thursday, she will be hosting a psychic night at the Harton and Westoe Miners’ Welfare Club in Low Lane, South Shields, from 7pm.

Mrs Fairley, who has just returned from living in Birmingham for nine years, said: “It’s good to be back, this is my first show in over nine years, so I’m looking forward to it.

“I like to think of myself as a modern clairvoyant. With my shows I try and give everyone who comes something to take away with them.

“I think there’s nothing more disappointing when you pay to go to a show and then other people get a message and you don’t.”

When Jayne was 17 she became interested in astrology and she bought her first pack of tarot cards.

She soon realised she had a gift and began appearing on TV and in national magazines.

Jayne said: “Most of the other physics were a lot older so I guess I was unusual being just a teenager and it did attract a lot of interest.

“I appeared on Northern Eye, which was an ITV documentary, and then I was also in a magazine called 19.

“I also starred on the Tonight show too. I’ve recently just re-watched the tapes and had a good laugh, but many of my predictions at the time did come true.”

On the old footage, taken from around 1996, Jayne predicted that Prince Edward would marry Sophie Rhys-Jones – they wed in 1999 – and Princess Diana would meet a rich tycoon – she later went public with Dodi Fayed in July 1997.

Over the years Jayne has worked alongside celebrity physics including Derek Acorah and Sally Morgan and has gave readings for many celebrities including Alan Carr, Tom O’Connor and Jennifer Ellison.

Jayne said: “I use my cards and also items like jewellery to gain messages. I don’t see ghosts, I think I’d die of fright if I actually saw one.

“It’s hard to explain but I see the messages in my head. But I am hoping lots of people come along to see my first show.”

Tickets for Jayne’s psychic night cost £8 if bought from the venue in advance and £10 on the night.
