Rafa Benitez's Christmas message to Newcastle fans
Rafa Benitez has given Newcastle United fans a festive message after his team claimed the No 1 spot at Christmas.

Goals from Dwight Gayle and Mohamed Diame gave the club a hard-fought 2-1 win over Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium yesterday.
And Newcastle lead second-placed Brighton and Hove Albion by one point going into a nine-day Christmas break.

"We know we can come here, compete and win. That is really good for the future.
"Now it is to enjoy Christmas. Our fans will be happy, so I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
