A masked raider threatened a shop worker with a knife before escaping with cash from a South Tyneside convenience store.
The raid happened at the Best One Store, in Dean Road, South Shields, at about 9.30pm on Friday.

A customer was also in the shop at the time.
Both the customer and the staff member were unhurt, but were left shocked by their ordeal.
Manager Sam Humayun said: “I’ve had the store for three years now and nothing like this happened before.
“The member of staff who it happened to is fine. I think he was more shocked that something like this could happen in such a nice area.
“The robber did get away with a bit of cash, but the main thing is my member of staff is OK. His safety comes first before anything else.”
She added: “This has happened to a member of my staff and it’s wrong.
“I don’t know how anyone thinks they can just walk in and do something like this.”
The manager says the member of staff was back at work the following day.
Police have confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the robbery and has since been released under investigation.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “A man has been arrested after a robbery at a South Shields convenience store.
“The robbery happened at Best One in Dean Road in South Shields at 9.30pm on Friday, September 15.
“A man went into the store armed with a knife before making off with a quantity of cash.
“No-one was injured in the robbery.
“A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released under investigation.”
