Sad to hear of Jean's death
Very sad to see former Corrie actress Jean Alexander has died in hospital aged 90.
From 1964 to 1987, she played one of the nation’s favourite soap characters – the sharp tongued Hilda Ogden, and for many years the put-upon apron wearing (hair in curlers) wife of Stan (played by actor Bernard Youens) till his death in 1984.
I can also remember Jean portraying dear old Auntie Wainwright in Last of the Summer Wine – RIP.
