Brides to be can get help to plan their perfect day at a wedding fair taking in South Shields next week.
South Tyneside Council is hosting the event on Sunday, September 24, from 10am to 3pm, in South Shields Town Hall.
The Grade II listed town hall is a popular venue for couples tying the knot in the borough with its unique features, including the iconic clock tower, sweeping stone staircase, oak-panelled rooms and stained glass window.
The Civic Suite on the upper floors of the building, including the majestic reception room and the impressive landing, will be transformed into a bridal extravaganza, showcasing a variety of local wedding suppliers, from venue styling and prop hire companies to photographers, bridal wear, stationary suppliers, flowers and more.
The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Olive Punchion said: “We are delighted to be holding this wedding fair, helping prospective bridges and grooms to plan their perfect day.
“Our magnificent town hall is full of history, charm and character with its beautiful period architecture, and has recently been renovated back to its original Edwardian splendour.
"It will not only provide a stunning backdrop for businesses to showcase their products and services but give couples a chance to see how the town hall could be the perfect place
for their wedding or civil partnership ceremony.
“The event is a great way for wedding planners to get ideas, inspiration and advice to make their day that extra bit special.”
