A famous face from a popular BBC series is coming to South Tyneside this weekend.
Patricia Routledge, best known for her role as Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances, will be at the Customs House, in Mill Dam, South Shields, tomorrow night.
Her prolific life in theatre is the subject of her new show, Patricia Routledge In Conversation With Edward Seckerson.
The evening, alongside the writer and broadcaster, will be illustrated with rare recordings of her life and career.
She said: “Edward decided quite a few years ago that one of the best-kept secrets was my musical theatre side, and he decided to dig it out.
“I knew him from radio and I had such regard for him that I said I would do the talks.”
Patricia won the 1968 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in Darling of the Day, and the 1988 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Candide.
Tickets for the 7.45pm show cost £18. To book, call the box office on 0191 454 1234.
