Representatives from the UK’s major shipping companies will be looking to find the next generation of Merchant Navy cadets in the borough.

A shipping day is to be held at South Shields Marine School, where information and advice will be given by shipping company training managers and the marine school’s own experts.

The event will run from 10am until 2pm on Saturday, April 28, and will include information on a career in the Merchant Navy.
