MUSIC legend Sir Tom Jones is to perform in the grounds of a North East castle.

The signing sensation, who has risen to fresh fame among younger generations on BBC’s The Voice, has been confirmed as the main act at the Pastures festival at Alnwick Castle this summer.

The 74-year-old Welshman, who has sold more than 100million singles worldwide in a career spanning six decades, will take to the stage on Saturday August 8.

The concert is being organised by Loose Cannon Events.

Director Neil Winterbottom said: “We are very excited that Sir Tom Jones will be playing at Alnwick Castle as it is the perfect setting for what promises to be an unforgettable and entertaining evening on August 8.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring such a world-class star to one of the North East’s iconic settings and Alnwick Castle will provide a perfect backdrop for a sensational concert.

“Sir Tom has a global fan base and attracts supporters of all ages and the concert will be the highlight of the summer in the North East, attracting fans of all music tastes.”

Tickets for the summer show go on sale from 9am on Monday morning.
