ALL is rosy in the garden for a South Tyneside care home now it has been rated as one of the best in the region.

Garden Hill Care Home in South Shields was named the fifth best out of 876 in the North East by industry website carehome.co.uk

The St Michael’s Avenue home, part of the Leeds-based Maria Mallaband Care Group, was given an award by the website after making its top 20 list for the second consecutive year.

Its rating was based on online recommendations by residents and their friends and relatives.

Lyndsay Scott, the home’s manager, said: “We were delighted to receive this award for the second year running.

“It means so much to us because it comes as a result of positive feedback from residents, relatives and visitors.

Quality

“We always strive to deliver the highest quality of care, so it’s wonderful to hear praise from residents, families and visitors.”

To thank its workers for the dedication that won it the award, the home’s bosses have had its staff room done up, and it now includes a breakfast bar and sofa area.

Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, added: “We felt the best people to rate a care home were the people who really know its ins and outs – its residents and their families.

“Garden Hill Care Home has proved that it provides a great service, and we’d like to congratulate them on being a top-recommended home in the North East.

“It’s a brilliant achievement to be recognised for your hard work but particularly so when it’s by the people who you work hard for.”
