South Shields comic Chris Ramsey admits he is living the dream after the release of his debut DVD.

Chris has crammed a successful tour and the DVD release into the last few months, not to mention the birth of his first child, Robin.

It’s an absolute dream come true

He can rarely have been busier, but the 29-year-old is having the time of his life.

His DVD, called ‘Chris Ramsey Live: All Growed Up’, went on sale on Monday, and sales are already going very well.

That mirrors the success of his tour, which started in September and will be completed tomorrow with a performance at Newcastle City Hall.

Chris said: “The tour has been excellent. I’ve had lots of sold-out shows, and this is the best show I’ve done so far. I’m glad that it has gone so well. This is my debut DVD too, and it’s already doing really well.

“The only comedians who are selling more seem to be the big dogs who do the arenas or have their own TV chat shows. It’s awesome to be within that prestigious company, nipping at their heels.”

Chris will be at the HMV store in Eldon Square, Newcastle, from 6pm tomorrow as he signs copies of his DVD.

The sight of his own DVD on the shelves is one he will not grow tired of.

He added: “I went into HMV in Norwich earlier this week and my DVD was on the shelves, which was amazing.

“It’s an absolute dream come true. A lot of comedians wouldn’t have dreamed of going into the shop and looking at their own DVD, but I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to do that. It’s amazing to see it.”

Chris is now looking forward to his first Christmas with new son Robin, as well as wife Rosie.

He added: “He was born five weeks ago. It’s pretty hard to be away from him sometimes. A lot of my mates work off-shore and have to be away from home for four to six weeks at a time, so I’m lucky that I’m back home every four to five days during the tour.

“Apart from a few bits and pieces, I’ll be at home for the rest of the year after the tour ends, which will be lovely.

“We’re going to have a good old-fashioned South Shields Christmas, and we’re really looking forward to it.”

Chris will appear on the Royal Variety Performance, which is on ITV next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, tickets for his next tour, which is on in the spring, are available from, as are tickets to tomorrow’s show in Newcastle.
