Christmas was alive and kicking at a community group as members gathered for their annual festive party lunch.
A total of 36 people enjoyed all the trimmings, laid on by the Gainsborough Avenue Day Centre group, based at Winship Close in Whiteleas.
The event sees those attending various weekly sessions for the over-55s to come together to celebrate the festive season.
Chairwoman Winnie Mathieson said: “Events like this are so important, as it brings everyone together, and everyone had such a great time - it went really well.
“We had great help from the girls from South Tyneside Homes, I don’t think we would have been able to do it without them.
“Groups like ours help reduce isolation and we’d love to see more people join us.”
The group will close on Wednesday and re-open on January 5 at noon.
