FOOTBALLER turned actor Vinnie Jones is heading to South Tyneside.
Jones was famous for his aggressive style of play during his time on the pitch and, following his retirement, made a name for himself on the Hollywood scene where he has starred in a number of movies including Gone in 60 Seconds, Mean Machine and X-Men and The Last Stand.
The former Wimbledon, Leeds United, Sheffield United and Chelsea player is appearing at the Hedworth Hall, in Dean Road, South Shields on Sunday May 10.
The event is the latest in a series of sportsman’s dinners that have been held at the venue which has seen the likes of Sugar Ray Leonard, Nigel Benn, Kevin Keegan, Alan Shearer and Larry Holmes take part.
Hedworth Hall manager Carl Mowatt said: “We are all excited that Vinnie Jones will be coming to South Shields.”
