South Shields fans pitched in this morning in an effort to get tonight's big FA Vase tie with Morpeth Town on.
The club requested for volunteers to help them with pitch forking after the playing surface at Mariners Park was left waterlogged following the recent rainfall in South Tyneside.
The weather forced the original tie between the sides to be postponed on Saturday, but tonight's fixture now has a better chance of going ahead after the help of the Shields supporters.
As well as pitch forking, fans put down sand in the worst areas of the ground.
The scenes this morning were similar to those which preceded the match between the Mariners and Tow Law Town last month, with about 25 volunteers having turned up that day to clear the waterlogged pitch. Shields went on to win that game 9-1.
Tonight's match is still thought to be in the balance, with a pitch inspection planned for later today.
If it does go ahead, it will kick-off at 7.45pm.
