A football club is set to do its bit to support a brave toddler who is set to receive vital treatment in America.
Three-year-old Kian Musgrave’s health battle has touched the hearts of thousands, with his family having been fundraising for months to take him to America to get treatment for the cancer, neuroblastoma.

It is the second time Kian has battled the illness, and fundraising events have taken place to help the ‘Caring For Kian’ campaign smash the £500,000 target which was needed for the trip and treatment.
Now funds are continuing to be raised for the family’s accommodation and extra medical costs, and as part of that, a fundraising night will take place at South Shields Football Club’s Mariners Park later this month.
The club has offered its facilities for free, and the night will include a DJ, raffles and entertainment, while it is hoped a band will perform at the event, on Saturday, March 19.
Among the raffle prizes and auction lots will be a signed South Shields FC strip, a signed Sunderland shirt and more.
Some of the South Shields squad, including former Sunderland and Middlesbrough favourite Julio Arca, will be present.
The event has been organised by Kayleigh Gray, a family friend of Mariners vice-chairman Gary Crutwell.
The mum of two said: “Kian is a similar age to one of my daughters, Darcie, and his story pulled on my heartstrings.
“We’re just really hoping to make a difference in whatever way we can. We’re aiming to raise about £1,000, but we’re sure whatever is raised will help the cause.”
South Shields FC commercial manager Colin Docherty said: “When Kayleigh contacted the club asking if we could help out, we were more than happy to do so.
“We’re also going to donate some raffle prizes, and we really hope plenty of money can be raised on the night for such a good cause.
“We’re more than happy to support events like this.”
Tickets cost £4, while the event will start at 7.30pm. To buy a ticket, call 0191 454 7800 or 07860 938024.
