South Shields kickboxer scores new deal with pub group Absolute Leisure
Absolute Leisure, which owns the Riverside, the Lakeside, The Marsden Grotto and The Waterfront, in South Tyneside has thrown its weight behind Nathan McCarthy.
The firm has given the 22-year-old a one year sponsorship deal, to help towards his training programme.

Hide AdThe deal comes as the company re-opened the doors to the Waterfront, at the Mill Dam, South Shields, following a revamp which includes the introduction of an open Asian grill.
Nathan trains at Kuei-Ling Kickboxing, in South Shields, and his coach Steve East, said: “Nathan is one of our busiest fighters and had several fights last year, many international bouts,
“Nathan has been a member of our club for about 15 years and has always been a dedicated athlete; He is well known throughout the country for his kickboxing skills and is making a name for himself on the international circuit.
“The deal from Absolute Leisure will assist him greatly.”
Nathan, from South Shields, works as a full-time electrician for his family businesses and is currently in training for his next fight in Dublin on March 5 where he will take part in the Irish Open involving fighters from 34 countries.

Hide AdDuring his fighting career, Nathan has won the World Kickboxing Association European Title in Scotland, International Combat Organisations British Title and the World Kickboxing Unions World title in Frankfurt.
