Jetu Miah, 28, of Wallington Grove, South Shields, sent several messages to the girl’s facebook account before sending the video, South Tyneside Magistrates heard.

Paul Anderson, prosecuting, said: “The messages were innocuous and the victim, who is 17-years-old, ignored them but matters took a more serious turn when Miah contacted her using the facetime video messaging service.

“The video showed him naked from the waist down, with his genitals clearly exposed.

“The victim ended the call, but Miah reconnected it and did the same thing again.”

Mr Anderson said the girl was at college with friends at the time and a lecturer saw it and called the police.

He added: “When Miah’s phone was examined, officers found messages indicative of cannabis dealing.”

Miahadmitted sending an obscene message via a public communications network, and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

Michelle Stoneley, defending, said: “Mr Miah doesn’t know the girl, has never met her, and he has no recollection of sending the video.

“He didn’t make any financial gain from dealing the cannabis.”

The bench adjourned sentence for the preparation of a probation report and Miah was bailed until November 8.
