All of the children were excited as they began planning the event and what they would like to do and talked about why they were holding the event – to raise money for the charity.

The children arranged a raffle, arts and crafts, hook the duck, computer activities and many more.

They also helped to prepare cakes and biscuits, both at home and at nursery, for people to buy.

On the day, parents, grandparents and friends were invited to the nursery to see what the children had planned and help with the fundraising.

The visitors took part in the activities and had an opportunity to speak to the nursery’s key workers to see the children’s learning journey files.

Everyone had a good time and the event raised £332 for Macmillan.

The ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rated kindergarten is situated in Beach Road, South Shields.
