A pervert who plied a teenager with vodka before having sex with her has been spared jail.
“Disgraceful” Daniel Pybus fuelled his underage victim with the drink until she “could do nothing for herself” after meeting her in South Shields.
The autistic 21-year-old defendant, who was a teenage adult at the time, admitted a charge of sexual activity with a child in relation to the offence.
Prosecutor Anne Richardson told Newcastle Crown Court that Pybus knew the girl was still at school.
She added: “The girl was given vodka to drink and they began to play a game of truth and dare on the defendant's phone.
“By 9pm she was very drunk. She could do very little for herself at this stage.
“He then took off his clothes and the victim was lying on the bed.
“She told police that she would have been unable to push him off.
“Afterwards he put his clothes back on and went to the train station. She began to panic and cry.”
The court heard how Pybus has no previous convictions or police cautions.
Jonathan Cousins, defending, said Pybus made full admissions when quizzed by police.
Mr Cousins added: “He was summoned to court in the November of 2017 and entered an early guilty plea.
“He has been waiting knowing that this day was going to come.”
The court also heard how Pybus, of Blyth Court, South Shields, suffers from autism and has drug and alcohol issues.
Recorder Tony Hawks passed a sentence of two years, suspended for two years, telling him: “You are now 21 and you have no previous convictions although with an offence of this sort that is little mitigation.
“You played sexual games with her and you had sexual intercourse with her."
He added: “It has had a bad affect on her and it has affected her schooling.
“It was a disgraceful bit of behaviour on your part.
“I have not found this an easy case. You have come very close today from going straight to prison.
“I wish you well and I hope that you can put all of this behind you.”
Pybus also must sign the Sex Offenders' Register and was given an unlimited Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
