A team of 15 accountants from company Mazars gave up their time to re-paint the 7th South Shields Scouts’ home in the town’s Highfield Road.

Cub leader Jack White, 19, says the makeover has opened a host of new opportunities at the hut.

He said: “We’ve just had a £20,000 grant from the recycling company, Sita, too so we’ve had quite a bit of a makeover.

“We’re going to do more with the hut and we now have different community groups that use it.”
