South Shields street attack: Victim in hospital and man in court

A man has appeared in court after a street attack in South Shields.

Kevin Dunn, 26, of no fixed abode charged with section 18 wounding of a 35-year-old man in Whiteleas Way, South Shields, at about 1.15pm on Saturday on October 24.

No pleas were entered. There was no bail application by solicitor Valerie Bell. Mr Dunn was emanded in custody by district judge Roger Elsey until hearing at Newcastle Crown Court on November 23.

The victim, named locally as Mark Morton, is said to be in a stable condition in Newcastle’s RVI hospital.
