The second game of the season saw Westoe travel to Rovers where the hosts ended up a narrow 14-10 winners.

Westoe led the game with only seconds remaining, but a lack of tactical awareness allowed the home side to steal the win and the points, leaving the players heartbroken. So, revenge is very much on the players’ minds.

With minimal changes from last week’s convincing 38-0 victory over Middlesbrough, Westoe will be firing on all cylinders, looking to consolidate their position at the top of the league ahead of rivals Northern and Barnard Castle.

Westoe will be without Dom Connolly, but captain Andy Kirton makes a timely comeback to fill the No6 spot.

The only other change is in the backs, where Michael Booth returns at scrum-half to take control of a youthful and dynamic back line.

The vociferous Westoe old-guard will be full of Christmas cheer and friendly advice for the visitors and they should expect a warm welcome.

Kick-off is at 2.15pm at Wood Terrace.
