Crews from South Tyneside fire stations were called to help a 19-year-old horse back onto her feet.
Mrs Dooley was unable to stand and had been lying prone in the field for over ten hours when firefighters were called to the scene this afternoon.
Crews from South Shields Fire Station were first on the scene at Burradon Farm in Burradon, which is near Cramlington.
However, they needed to call in the specialist horse rescue team from Hebburn Fire Station.
A spokesman for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service said: "Using both farm and our horse rescue equipment we got the horse on her feet and left her in the hands of the vet."
