South Tyneside flasher hunted by police after three indecent exposures near Metro station

Police are hunting a serial flasher after three indecent exposures in front of teenage boys in South Tyneside.

All three incidents took place on Station Road, near Brockley Whins Metro station, and are thought to involve the same offender.

The first incident took place at 8.30pm on Monday, February 29, when a man exposed himself to a 16-year-old boy.

The second happened on Sunday, March 27, at 9.15pm to a 16-year-old boy, while the most recent incident took place on Sunday, May 8, at 11.42pm when a man exposed himself to a 17-year-old male.

The offender for all three offences is described as a white man, with a Geordie accent, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and in his late 20s. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and grey jogging pants.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Angela Lewis said: "This man's behaviour is completely unacceptable and I'd appeal for anyone who knows anything about these incidents, or anyone who might know who he is to contact us with any information as soon as possible.

"We are carrying out checks in the local area, speaking to local residents and since these incidents have been reported have had extra officers carrying out patrols to try and arrest this man.

"I'd urge anyone who sees someone matching the description in this area of South Tyneside area to ring us and let us know as soon as possible."

Enquiries are ongoing to try and trace the man and if anyone thinks they may know who this is, or has any information that might help with the investigation, they are asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1353 of 08/05/16.
