South Tyneside police officer in court accused of accessing personal data on force computer

A South Tyneside police officer has denied using force computers to access personal information.

Serving Northumbria Police officer Paul Andre 43, is accused of looking up details of a tenant and an incident at property he rented out.

Andre, of Reading Street, South Shields, pleaded not guilty to three counts of obtaining or disclosing personal data or information contained in the police computerised system, when he appeared before magsitrates in North Tyneside.

The first charge relates to September last year, and the other two dates to Boxing Day and December 27.

His trial was listed before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on January 23, 2017.

Andre was released on unconditional bail until that date.
