A little girl who is battling an aggressive form of cancer has inspired a fundraising night for the charity which is supporting her fight.

Kayleigh Brennan, from Australia Grove, in Brockley Whins, South Shields, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in May and underwent treatment at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Our party nights are always a fun night for all the family.

The youngster’s family are being supported by children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Earlier this year, her parents Rob and Lindsey launched a drive to raise the funds to take the four-year-old, who loves Princesses, to Disneyland once her treatment is complete.

After reaching their target they have requested the cash raised at the fancy dress Halloween event at the Cleadon Club, South Shields, be donated to CLIC Sargent.

The event, which is on Saturday, October 29, has been organised by CE Sports - a sports club based at Chuter Ede Community Centre, in Galsworthy Road, South Shields.

Paul Kirton of CE Sports said: “Our party nights are always fun for all the family. It’s a bit like Haggerston Castle coming to South Shields.

“Over the years the events have raised money for lots of various charities over the years. This time we have decided to donate the proceeds to CLIC Sargent in Kayleigh’s name.

“We have been following Kayleigh’s battle with leukaemia and we are all so proud of the way she has handled it.”

Doors to the event which will include a disco, party games, dances and prizes, open at 7pm.

Tickets for the night are priced £2.50 and are available by calling 07539 201679.
