Sports Direct billionaire Mike Ashley has given away £2.4 million worth of jackets after his Newcastle United side won in the Premier League.

The retailer ran a competition to give away 45,000 winter coats to people who liked the shop's Facebook page, with the prize dependent on the Magpies beating West Ham United at St James's Park.

Sports Direct said winners would be picked by lottery, as there were more people entering the draw than there were prizes.

Newcastle earned a much-needed 2-1 win which saw them move out of the relegation zone.
