Steve Bruce new favourite with some bookies for Sunderland job
Steve Bruce is the new favourite for the Sunderland manager's job after reports emerged that he had quit Hull City.

Bruce had been vying with Sam Allardyce to become new England boss, but has lost out to his big pal.
Reports emerged today that he had left Hull City, and some bookmakers quickly installed him as favourite to return to Sunderland, where he was manager between 2009-11.
SkyBet and BetVictor had him as 1/2, while Paddy Power made him 11/10 to replace Allardyce in the Stadium of Light hotseat.
However, David Moyes remains the favourite with most of the other bookmakers and the Echo understands talks remain at an advanced stage.

Bruce was sacked by Ellis Short in 2011 after a poor run of form, having previously led Sunderland to a top 10 finish.
Allardyce is expected to be confirmed as England manager later today, and there are also suggestions he could appoint Bruce as his No 2.
