Sunderland to face Everton in final home game of the season
Sunderland will host Everton in their final home game of the season after the postponed fixture was re-arranged for the last week of the season.
Sam Allardyce's side were due to take on the Toffees at the Stadium of Light last Saturday but the game was postponed as a result of Everton's ongoing FA Cup run - leaving Sunderland with a free weekend ahead of Sunday’s Tyne-Wear derby.
The Everton game has now been re-arranged for Wednesday, May 11 (kick-off 7.45pm).
It means Sunderland - battling for Premier League survival - face a busy final week of the season as they host Chelsea at home on Saturday, May 7, then Everton the following Wednesday before the final game of the 2016-17 campaign away to Watford on Sunday, May 15.
A Sunderland statement read: "Any tickets already purchased will remain valid for the new date."
Everton beat Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup quarter final on Saturday to book their place in the semi-finals at Wembley.
