Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips will be sharing the story of his career at a sportsman’s dinner, next month.
The 41-year-old, who is the only Englishman to win the European Golden Shoe will be at the Hedworth Hall, in Dean Road, South Shields, on June 4.
The event is part of the venue’s long-running list of sporting stars who have hosted talk-ins for fans.
Phillips was the Premier League top scorer in the 1999–2000 season with 30 goals for Sunderland.
After leaving the Black Cats, he went on to play for a number of clubs before hanging up his boots in 2014. He is currently assistant first team coach at Leicester City Football Club.
