Sunderland v Bournemouth: On-loan Dame N'Doye to get immediate chance for Black Cats

Dame N'Doye will go straight into Sunderland's squad for tomorrow's visit of Bournemouth, with Sam Allardyce hopeful that the striker can make an immediate impact.

On-loan Trabzonspor frontman N’Doye has had a full week training with his new team-mates at the Academy of Light after rubber-stamping the details of his work permit.

The Senegal international is expected to be among the substitutes against Bournemouth after his last 90-minute outing came at the end of November.

But Allardyce is hopeful of N’Doye hitting the ground running, as he did for Hull last season when he netted five goals in 15 games after arriving in the January transfer window.

Allardyce said: “I spoke to Brucey (Hull boss Steve Bruce) and it was the same scenario last season when he came in at Hull.

“He was alright then, and he threw him straight in.

“Hopefully he can do the same for us.”

N’Doye’s fellow new signing Jan Kirchhoff is also likely to be on the bench, despite the German centre-half enduring a nightmare debut in last weekend’s 4-1 defeat at Spurs.

But Allardyce says the time to judge Kirchhoff is at the end of the season, with the ex-Bayern Munich man able to boost his match fitness by featuring in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week.

“What matters is what happens at the end of the season,” added Allardyce.

“That’s the telling point on whether Jan and Dame have been a success or not.

“It’s not them having a poor performance for 30 minutes.

“Many players performed poorly for 30 minutes, as well as him, but of course with him giving the penalty away and the deflected goal, he gets picked out.

“Hopefully, it doesn’t happen to him again and we get stronger from this point onwards.”
