Sunny spells and little rain forecast for Bank Holiday weekend

FAMILIES should be able to enjoy some fun in the sun over the Bank Holiday weekend, with forecasts predicting long, dry and sunny spells.

The weather tonight is predicted to stay dry in the North East, though growing cold with the chance of grass frost by dawn in more rural parts.

Saturday is forecast to be dry with long sunny spells, some patchy cloud developing by the afternoon, but feeling quite pleasant in the light winds. Maximum Temperature 19 °C.

The outlook for Sunday and Monday is to stay cooler and breezier, with sunshine and showers, after early cloud and rain clears.

Foo Fighters fans heading to the Stadium of Light gig in Sunderland should stay relatively dry, with sunny spells, isolated showers and a cool breeze predicted for Monday.
