Super-slimmer Rachael is named woman of the year after shedding an amazing 11st

Super slimmer Rachael Graham was nominated for the award by members of the South Shields Slimming World group, which she joined in January 2017.

The competition is held each year to celebrate women across the UK who have made the change to a healthier lifestyle.

Rachael was nominated for losing 11st over 17 months and achieving her target weight.

She said: “I was very excited to start making the changes I wanted. I also felt very comfortable at the group, which made it so much easier.

“The support and advice was great, and I never just wanted to weigh and go.

“Slimming World has given me the lifestyle change I needed and craved.”

Rachael decided to begin her weight loss journey after becoming increasingly uncomfortable about her size.

However, she’s not the only slimmer in the family.

Her mum, dad and brothers decided to join in and have now lost more than 30st between them.

Tina Harley, consultant of the South Shields group, said: “Seeing the progress Rachael made week after week really spurred so many of our members on within the group.

“To see her blossom into the happy, healthy person that she is today is just wonderful.

“The plan has allowed Rachael to still enjoy her social life, festivals and holidays.

“I hope Rachael inspires other women and men in South Shields to join one of our groups.”
