What a talented lot they are!

The cream of South Tyneside’s entertainers took to the stage for the Best of South Tyneside Young Performer awards and put on a hugely impressive show.

We are always hugely impressed and amazed by the never ending stream of talent in South Tyneside. This year was no exception. Each and every performance was an inspiration

Ten acts gave everything they had in their bid to reach the finals of the category which is sponsored by the Port of Tyne.

Judges agreed the standard had been very high and it would be no easy decision to choose the final three who would move on to the grand finals of the category.

Susan Wear, Port of Tyne Director of Corporate Affairs, said: “We are always hugely impressed and amazed by the never ending stream of talent in South Tyneside.

“This year was no exception. Each and every performance was an inspiration. They are all young people who are really dedicated performers, totally committed to giving their best and they should be incredibly proud of themselves. ”

A huge crowd turned out to watch the young performers in action at the Customs House in South Shields.

The contenders who took part in last night’s event were;

l Ellie Adams.

l Rebekah Grace Summerhill.

l Molly Stobbs.

l Sasha and David France.

l Simona Didiasova.

l Lily Cooke.

The competition is now drawing close to its exciting finale when we will choose the 2017 winners and we have some great entries to choose from.

Sponsoring the overall Best of South Tyneside Awards this year is electronics giant Siemens as the headline sponsor, along with a host of category sponsors including Harlow Print, Northumbrian Water, South Shields Football Club, the Customs House, JML and Barbour.

The Best of South Tyneside grand finale will be held at the Quality Hotel, in Boldon on September 21.
