PROUD mum Lyndsey Cousins just loves to dance – and she’s hoping to pass on her passion to a new generation of movers.
The 25-year-old from Whiteleas in South Shields has started Jittabugs South Tyneside, which aims to get tots on their feet.
And even though its still a fledgling business, Lyndsey has already earned a nomination for the Entrepreneur of the Year category of the Best of South Tyneside awards.
Her nomination said: “Jittabugs runs classes for babies and pre schoolers, movement and dance activities building confidence and developing skills.
“She is an amazing lady, role model and teacher.”
Delighted Lyndsey, who is mum to five-year-old Mia and seven-month-old Poppy, and is married to 26-year-old Gareth Cousins, said: “I am very surprised.”
“This is all about giving children a good start in life” Lyndsey Cousins
She explained more about her decision to become self-employed.
“I started it because I had just had my second little girl. I have given up a full-time job to do this and it means I don’t have a guaranteed income so it is a big deal.
“But I have trained in dance from being three years old myself.
“Jittabugs is all about building confidence and building skills. It is about getting children a good start in life.
“It is about getting them up and moving.”
Lyndsey joins an already impressive list of entrants in this year’s competition but we want more before the deadline of Friday, April 10.
