South Tyneside residents are in no shortage of places to go for a haircut, with the best in the area ranked by Google.
These seven barbers have received acclaim from members of the public, some who fly from across the globe and stop by when in need of a trim when visiting family members. Other establishments have been open for over a decade, with repeat business booming.
Praise for the seven hair salons and barber shops was seen online, with Tripadvisor and Google reviews glowing with praise for the highly regarded hair trimmers.

2. Todd's Chop Shop
With nearly 400 reviews on Google and an average rating of five stars, Todd’s Chop Shop on Nevison Avenue seems far and away the most popular spot in South Shields. The establishment was opened over three years ago and has provided thousands of haircuts in its “traditional barber shop” environment. Their site confirmed discounts for students and OAPs were available. Todd’s Chop Shop is run by co-owners Chris and Sarah, and appears to have struck a chord with the public. 3. Stoney's Barbers
Located on Laygate, Stoney’s Barber Shop has hundreds of reviews and a respectful 4.8 average from its 149 reviews. The barber shop, open Monday to Saturday, offers OAP rates as well as restyling, colouring and hot towel shaves. Members of the public have said their “very reasonably priced” haircuts are always to a high standard. Staff members Ibra and Yaz work the business and a description of the business reads: “Because I understand that when you’re looking for a barber, you’re looking for a person... a person who cares about your hair and how it looks and feels.
