Burst water main causes flooding near Tyne Tunnel

Motorists are being warned of flooding near to the Tyne Tunnel’s southbound plaza due to a burst water main in the area.

Tunnel operator TT2 Limited took to social media to warn customers of the issue at around 11.20am on Friday, August 28.

A statement said: “There is a burst water main affecting the road leading to the southbound plaza causing some flooding.

"Northumbrian Water have been contacted and we will update when the issue is resolved. Please drive carefully.
