Turn off the traffic lights

Just to add my view, and a simple suggestion to improve local traffic flow and reduce pollution.

Turn off the traffic lights at the bottom of John Reid Road between the hours of 0930 and 1600hours.

I totally agree that they need to be switched on between 0700 and 0930, and between 1600 and 1830 (at the latest).

Neither should these lights be activated at all at weekends.

As there’s nothing to lose, let’s try it and see – I’m sure everyone wants better flow and less pollution – and less electricity usage to boot.

The same could be said for the Lindisfarne roundabout. Let’s be forward-thinking.
