Two-vehicle smash led to road closure

A two-vehicle smash led to the closure of a busy road in South Tyneside.

Police were called to the A194 at Lindisfarne Roundabout in Jarrow on Sunday after a collision between the vehicles.

It happened on the southbound carriageway at about 11.50am.

The smash led to the road being closed and diversions were put in place for a short time while it was dealt with by officers.

No-one was injured.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “At 11.50am Sunday, November 13, police were informed there was a collision on the A194 southbound at Lindisfarne Roundabout. Two vehicles were involved. No-one was injured. The road was closed for a short time.”
