Shields Ferry river cruises are back for summer.
Nexus, which owns and operates the cross-Tyne Shields Ferry service, is offering passengers a new range of evening cruises, featuring eight different live acts performing on board.
The line-up includes rock and roll, pop, blues, classic rock, Irish folk music and a cabaret event featuring a drag artist.
The scheduled trips start in June and run until October and tickets are on sale now online at www.nexus.org.uk or from any Nexus Travel Shop.
Shields Ferry manager, Carol Timlin, said: “With the addition of new events there really is something for everyone this year. The Shields Ferry is a great way to see the iconic views on the River Tyne.
“We have a really varied range of live bands performing during the evenings, including a cabaret show with a drag act which is strictly for the adults.
“There are plenty of family fun days and we’ve retained our more familiar range of river trips, featuring historical commentaries.”
The three-hour River Commentaries give people the chance to take in the sights of the Tyne, with an informative historical commentary from two local historians, including TV historian John Grundy.
