The Waiters are set to play as the headline act at Saturday’s Together Forever Variety show organised by Stephen Sullivan.

The event, at The Customs House, South Shields, has been months in the planning with a host of performers from around the region lined up to perform on stage.

Singers, dance schools, comedians and acrobats will also feature on the night with the cash raised being donated to the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust, which was set up as a memorial to the teengers who died in the Manchester Arena bomb blast.

There will also be a chance to win a cruise with DFDS Seaways.

The charity supports young talented performers and sportspeople to fulfil their potential through the use of bursaries.

Last year’s event helped raise £3,000 for the Trust.

Stephen said: “When I was younger there was nothing around to help young performers with opportunities like the Trust are now giving people.

“It’s amazing what their parents are doing, turning something so horrendous into something positive.”

He added: “It is such a big task to organise the night as there are so many people involved. The show itself is going to be incredible.

“The night will be a celebration of their lives and a celebration of the Trust going forwards.

“The Waiters have reformed and will headline the show. They have eluded there will be a big surprise on the night. So the night is definitely not one to miss.”

Tickets are available, priced £10, from the Customs House box office
