The MP for Batley and Spen died yesterday, after reportedly being shot by a constituent.
Vera Baird this morning sent condolences to the Labour MP's family: "I send my personal sympathy to Jo's family for their terrible loss," she said.
"My thoughts are with her husband, Brendan, and their children as they confront a tragedy that they could never have expected and which is very hard to understand.
