WET weather failed to dampen the Good Friday spirit for families who still enjoyed all the fun of the fair.
Ocean Beach Pleasure Park was packed with people of all ages who braved the rain to kickstart their Easter break.
As well as old favourites including the Waltzer, Dodgems and Helter Skelter, visitors to the tourist attraction were treated to two new rides.
The Crazy Frog and Dreams Live are the latest additions to the site.
Among those enjoying the day and braving the rain was four year-old Ellis Harwood.
The youngster, from Hebburn, had been looking forward to his Easter trip to the fair for the past week and despite the wet weather still wanted to come down.
He said: “I’ve had a good time.”
Emma Choudhury, marketing executive at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, said: “Despite the wet weather, we have still had quite a lot of people who have come down.
“A little bit of rain clearly doesn’t stop the people of South Shields from enjoying the traditional visit to the fair on Good Friday.”
The Easter weekend kicks off the beginning of the season for Ocean Beach Pleasure Park which will be open every day of the school holidays from 11am until late.
