The Met Office’s forecast for the week head can give us some hope, with its experts suggesting by the weekend, the sun will be shining once again.

But what can we expect during the next few days ahead?

Starting with showers

The prediction is for a rather cool, damp and cloudy start to the week, following on from low cloud and fog overnight and some drizzle.

The minimum temperature was likely to be around 10C during the night, with those conditions continuing into the morning.

But as the day goes on, there will be limited sunny spells, however there is a chance of heavy showers and a risk of thunder, with the Met Office stating it could be as warm as 23C.

What about later in the week?

From Tuesday to Thursday, it will be cool, with a little rain and drizzle at times, although the forecast does set out that it is likely to be cloudy but dry for most of the time.

It will be brighter and warmer away from coastal districts, although this may spark further showers.

But there’s good news coming

Across the region, according to the latest forecast, Friday is likely to see us welcome back the sunshine, with some cloud still overhead.

It could be as warm as 19C.

Saturday is set to be even better, and while there will still be some cloud, we can expect it to be a little warmer than Thursday and with more sunshine.
