Fire dancers, fun inflatables and a dazzling sky spectacular made it a night to remember in South Tyneside.
Westoe Rugby Club’s annual display drew thousands of families to the outdoors yesterday and, despite the chilly weather, the evening was a great success.
Jan Robinson, club manager, thanked the community for coming along – and for their great spirit on the night.
“The display was a big success and everybody had a brilliant time,” she said.
“There was great community spirit and all of the children loved the funfair and the big inflatables we had this time.”
Now in its eighth year, the display is raising money for the club itself, in Dean Road, South Shields.
Visitors to the event also enjoyed an exciting performance from a group of fire dancers – and had their choice of refreshments from food and drinks stalls.
Jan added: “There was a really nice atmosphere and the fireworks were really spectacular.”
